There are several different copies of this piece, with varying titles: "Suite for Oboe and Bassoon"; "Four Pieces for Oboe and Bassoon"; "Oboe and Clarinet"; and "Duet for Oboe and Tuba." In the version titled "Oboe and Clarinet," the beginning of the piece has "Oboe" for the top line, under which is written "Piano," in between the two clefs, and "Viola or Clarinet B-flat or Engl Horn" next to the lower staff. In the version titled "Duet and Oboe and Tuba," next to the bass clef line, Beyer writes "Tuba F (or Trombone, Bassoon)". These substitutions are consistent with her note on the oboe-bassoon version: "or any other suitable instruments." |
