Four Voice Canon #11 (“Parsons Canon”)

Place: Dartmouth.

Sounds: Six percussionists or any six musicians.

Elements: No permutations lists used. Source is a set of rhythms “lent” to me by English composer Michael Parsons.

Comments: Part of the large series of pieces called tetherball, generally one page scores for six musicians, each of which rotates through the six parts.

Four Voice Canon #11 has been performed by a number of ensembles, including Non Sequitur, the Downtown Ensemble, and a number of university groups. No commercially available recording exists yet.
