Gamelan Son of Lion performs in the Washington Square Music Festival - a free concert series in the park (weather permitting) or in nearby NYU (weather not permitting). The program includes Lou Harrison's Double Concerto for Violin, Cello and Gamelan with soloists from the Festival Ensemble, and a traditional Javanese gamelan piece, as well as pianist David Oel performing works by Erno Dohnanyl and Eric Satie.

appears as artists of Locust Music (Chicago) in a series showcasing performers of the record lable. Program will include selections from Locust's reissues of the ensembles early recordings: The Complete Gamelan in the New World (1979, Folkways) and Metal Notes (1985, New Wilderness Audiographics) plus pieces by current ensemble members.
Tickets are $15. for entire evening, which includes two other performing groups. Event begins at 8pm. Gamelan is second set.
